Richard A. Garza began his real estate endeavors through a partnership in BIC Realty. Richard has developed a niche in acquiring and marketing foreclosed and repossessed properties for lenders and governmental agencies. He and his partner purchased the realty company in 1984 and have turned it into one of the most successful and respected industry leaders. BIC Realty's sales totaled over $12.6 million dollars in the past year.
Now, Richard has teamed with Oscar L. Garza, Jr., a specialist in subdivision construction, to create Garco, Ltd.. Garco, Ltd., which was founded in 2002, was the first developer in this area to develop a ranch community known as Little Piece of Texas. Richard and Oscar had the foresight to develop a community of 5 and 10 acre ranches with building restrictions for people who wanted to enjoy ranch life with the comfort of knowing that their property value was protected by restrictions.
While Garco has definitely established itself as a leader in the ranch community market, Garco has developed other subdivisions for buyers of all types. MGM Ranches is a subdivision of ½ acre lots for exclusive home sites and is located just east of Edinburg. Other developments include Ball's Estates and Sahara Estates which contain ½ acre lots with fewer building restrictions. There are several other developments currently in the planning stages which will be introduced at a later date.
